❤️WHY WE LOVE THIS RECIPE
Do you always have apples and bananas on hand that need to be used? I am constantly looking for something to do with over ripe bananas and apples that are about to go bad on me. This Apple Banana cake is quick and easy and your friends and family will love it. Throw it together for dessert or to go with your morning coffee and it would be perfect for brunch!
SWAPS
We love cream cheese frosting but you can always just leave the frosting off and sprinkle with powdered sugar. You can use any apples in this recipe, we normally use a red apple of all varieties. Nuts are optional in this recipe.
⭐TIP
This cake is better the next day, so you can easily make it a day in advance. This cake also uses 2 large bananas. This always confuses people and they want to know the exact measurement. We use 2 large bananas, it’s that simple.

Apple Banana Cake
If you love the combination of apples and bananas then try this delicious cake! It’s been a family favorite for many years.
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 3 cups of grated apples peel and core before grating
- 2 large bananas mashed
- 1 stick butter or 8 tablespoons or 1/2 cup melted
- 2 eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup chopped nuts Optional (Pecans or Walnuts)
Cream Cheese Frosting:
- 1 8 ounce package cream cheese, softened
- 1 stick butter softened
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Whisk together flour, brown sugar, salt, baking soda and cinnamon. Stir in grated apples, mashed bananas, melted butter, eggs and vanilla extract with spoon. Fold in nuts.

Spray a 9 x 13 baking dish with cooking spray and pour batter into the dish. Bake in preheated 350 degree oven 45 to 50 minutes until center tests done. Let cool and frost or sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving. Makes 12 servings.
